We have had some amazing hiking days. Cold, windy, some snow, but mostly sunny with spectacular views. We hit the famous McAffee Knob and had the “ledge” photos taken. The AT then followed the literal edge of Tinker cliffs- that was fun. Today the trail crisscrossed the Blue Ridge Parkway with views on both sides of the ridge. Some people feel that this southern VA section of the trail is the best and I have to agree.
