At the hostel resort we camped at a lovely creekside spot. Resort means we had showers, flush toilets, a warming hut and electricity for recharging electronics.

Another hiker, Andrew, had arrived much earlier in the day and went grocery shopping. He invited us to join him and the owners, Linda and Travis, in a cookout. Todd jumped right in with Andrew spicing up and grilling steak, chicken, baked potatoes and squash. What a feast! First real food since home. He didn’t even want money. I think this is our first “trail magic”.
